Data Community DC
Co-founded one of the largest data science communities in the US — grew it from 2 meetup groups to 10 with 15,000+ members.
I co-founded Data Community DC to give data people in the DC area a place to learn, share, and connect. What started as two small meetup groups with about 1,500 members grew into a network of 10 groups with over 15,000 members — making it one of the largest data science communities in the country.
We hosted regular meetups, workshops, and conferences across disciplines: data science, data engineering, machine learning, NLP, and data visualization.
The biggest thing I took away from it was how much community accelerates careers. Many of the best opportunities in my own career trace directly back to relationships built through DC2.
